Industries of Focus: Childcare

Cooties, boogers, and crayons all over the place…that’s what comes to mind when I think of childcare. Kids bring us all kinds of joy, and all kinds of sickness as well, that’s why anything involving children should be kept clean at all times. Germs are rampant in most facilities for children and precautions are taken to keep facilities clean. When I was a kid I didn’t care about keeping clean or what I was touching…come to think of it, might have been the best time of my life.

A lot of the time germs are taken into childcare facilities by visitors and left behind for you to pick up when you visit. You then take them home and spread them amongst your things. How nice would it be to slip on some shoe covers when you enter a building and prevent yourself from tracking contaminants in and then dispose of the shoe covers to stop from bringing the contaminants out? It would be very nice!

If this was the case you wouldn’t have to walk into the daycare like you were in the movie Mission Impossible, trying to avoid contact with anything, snag the package, and run out of the building like it was about to explode. A shoe cover and some hand sanitizer would be a perfect one-two knockout to the germs. You and your children would be kept clear of the unnecessary germs from the daycare/school.

I am happy children are building their immune systems, but I think adults have got the flu enough times in their life to bypass that experience by slipping into so wonderful shoe covers.

Industries of Focus: Military

*TEN-HUT! Bet you didn’t know that is short for “a-ten-hut”, which is yet again shortened from the command word: “attention”. Now that you believe I am smart, let’s march right into today’s post. The different branches of military have a great need for shoe covers. I know for most of us we assume the military would have new recruits going around with tooth brushes cleaning everything from the floor to the ceiling, but that doesn’t look very good inside an embassy or military HQ.

One thing those military issued boots are good for is tracking dirt and mud EVERYWHERE. Cleanliness is key in the military and you could imagine that soldiers would want to shoot the problem on site. Luckily, instead of giving these highly trained individuals a gun and combat knife to keep their boots clean, we gave them the KineticButler.

Because of the ease of use and quick application time; sailors, airmen, marines can enter any building without tracking dirt and mud everywhere. The Industrial Manufacturing industry is a very interesting place for shoe covers. Why is that you ask? Well its very simple, it is interesting because the vast variety of possible tasks the shoe covers are used for. Industrial manufacturing workers have to work in every kind of field you would use a bootie or shoe cover to work in. A person working in this field would be very familiar with shoe covers, and if they used our product once they would be forever grateful for our shoe covers and KineticButler.

Let me put it this way; employees in Industrial Manufacturing work in mud, oil, cleanrooms, hospitals, aerospace, high tech, and just about every industry. Ambulance, stretcher, doctor, nurse, and lots of possible contaminants. Where are we today? The HOSPITAL! Don’t be scared, I’m here to help. In order to prevent these harmfull bacteria from gathering on our shoes we need to find a solution to stop the contamination in the Hospital.

Alright, you are not a 6th grader on a tour of a hospital, but you are reading this so im going to assume we are getting somehwere. When you drill down and think about being at a hospital, I want you to think about the cleaniness of that hospital and how much worse it would be without Personal Protection Equiptment(PPE). Using proper PPE is crucial to stopping an infestation of bacteria and possible diseases at our hospitals. Anatomy of a Bootie

“It’s a bootie…what makes that special?” Well my friend recently got a response he did not expect. I went into a detailed description of the exact materials inside our booties. Afterwards I realized I had been spending too much time at the office and on the internet reading about booties…you have no idea the things you will find. Seriously, no idea!

Long story short, we have several different types of booties, all consisting of a similar products that we are proud to put into our Spec Sheets (Link website). However, I feel as though when someone reads the majority of spec sheets, they get zero satisfaction and are just happy that they got in some light reading for the day. NO says I, it is time to understand what you are reading , and be 100% aware of what you are getting…a superior product from your friends at BootieButler (inserts smiley face…I won’t do it).

Our products consist primarily of two raw materials: Polypropylene and Polyethylene, and yes they are two separate words silly. I would like to give you a quick, concise description and definition of both products. The most user-friendly definition I could find was at Wikipedia, yah yah…I get it you don’t like Wikipedia, but I checked their sources and their summary was better than it was written from their sources. So go cry to your freshman English teacher and not me about tertiary sources).

“ Polypropylene (PP), also known as polypropene, is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications including packaging, textiles (e.g., ropes, thermal underwear and carpets), stationery, plastic parts and reusable containers of various types, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components, and polymer banknotes. An addition polymer made from the monomer propylene, it is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polypropylene)

“Polyethylene (PE), is a thermoplastic polymer consisting of long chains produced by combining the ingredient monomer ethylene (IUPAC name ethene), the name comes from the ingredient and not the actual chemical resulting. …now would you be impressed if I told you all of this resulted in the making of the HULA HOOP! Fantastic…you’re interested again.

A third product used in some of our booties is CPE. CPE is cast polyethylene, which is just a much thicker version of polyethylene.
PP,PE, and CPE are all products of highly advanced materials that we accidently discovered in the heyday of science. That we, and many other industries have taken to make safe, reliable, and more cost effective products for consumers today.

Of course, the booties also contain additives that give them different durability and wear characteristics to meet our customers’ specific needs. But that’s another topic for another post.

Industries of Focus: Research

Research makes the world go round…or at least stops it from being ended by a product whose side effects where not thoroughly checked out by researchers. Typically, a research facility has a clean room where tests can be conducted. And people are walking around in big elaborate suits to prevent contamination of tests and items within the clean room.

Today’s post is all about the Research industry and how the KineticButler can help improve the industry. As always, I want you to give you the real information and not some lofty gibberish. BootieButler PREVENTS cross contamination, BootieButler does this by eliminating the most common cause of cross contamination when applying shoe covers…YOUR HANDS! Four score and seven years ago (87 years smarty pants) safety was not as important as it is today. I would like to talk about how our products are used in different industries. BootieButler has different products for different industries. Also, we are constantly doing Research and Development to make our products better and to come out with new and innovative ideas in the PPE market.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about the benefits and features of different shoe covers. Now, in the Industries of Focus series we are going to highlight the industries we serve, discuss how BootieButler products can benefit each industry, and highlight the specific products that are most commonly used in those industries.
It’s going to be fun! It’s never boring here in the blog, we will put a fun spin on everything we do.

How to Guide at Expos

Due to the insane amount of positive feedback at our recent trade show expos, we thought it would be relevant to tell our readers what the BootieButler trade show experience is like. If you ever get the opportunity to attend one of these events we would like to give you some hints and clues how to get past our bootie groupies gawking at our booth. Laugh all you want, but if you get trampled once the show goes live you will wish you listened to me.

“I was at last week’s expo but your booth was so busy; I couldn’t get through to see It.” said a recent customer. No joke, this was an actual comment we received after one of our shows. We love being busy and showing people what we have to offer and the feedback is always welcome. It is also nice to have our sales team come back acting like a rock band who just played at Bootie-Stock, fortunately for our office staff, the sales people aren’t wearing makeup, leather pants, and getting perms….yet.

The BootieButler is easy to spot, but sometimes difficult to view through the masses. “The Bootie Experience” as we like to call it is quick, easy, and fun; which explains the difficulty in getting people to leave. We have decided to give you VIP access today and give your very specific directions on how to get to the stage (booth) at a live event:

Operation: Bootie Booth
1. Find the Directory and locate the Bootie Booth number
2. Listen for the hum of the remover, followed by laughter and excitement. Don’t be alarmed
3. If your hear people saying “Coolest booth ever” ”Best booth at the show” ”Hands down, without a doubt BootieButler was the coolest product at the show,” you are getting very close
4. If you approach a booth with so many people you can’t see the product, you have arrived. Wave a 20 dollar bill in the air and Fran will be glad to assist you.[NOTE: BootieButler management edited this our, but Fran “convinced” me to keep it in the post]

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Knoxville

The house is built and BootieButler was glad to be part of the magic! We received a phone call asking if we had any shoe covers we could donate for the show, because the previous supply had run out.

How important are shoe covers for a show like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition? INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT! When a house is built in a week, you can imagine the mess being made inside the house with the amount of people working…fwew, the house would never get done. It was a perfect opportunity to give back to the community and for the EM: HE community to use an awesome product.

As soon as Rob heard that help was needed, he was off like a rocket with the Bootie-Mobile filled to the brim with KineticButlers and shoe covers. We knew the Kinetic Butler would be a big hit for the people working on the house due to the ease of use and the increase in productivity. SPEED is of the essence with the cast, crew, and volunteers of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and that is one of the KineticButler’s biggest benefits.

“Bootie Butler, the Best thing EVER,” Lead Designer Paulie DiMeo said as he signed Rob’s hardhat.

The house is now finished and the Watson family is moved in to continue work on their foundation. Extreme Makeover: Home edition was a great chance for the community to rally together and commit a selfless act, and BootieButler was honored to be part of that.
