In carbon black plants, there is a lot of soot, dust and dirt from processing.  These companies often opt for the KBNS-40, our 40-gram polyethylene shoe cover; it does the job by not tracking any dirt, soot, or dust into the building.  In the oil sands especially, we’re talking about keeping dirt inside the shoe cover as workers go inside a building so they don’t leave tracks of dirt of oil and mud, so we need a 100% waterproof shoe cover as people put them on and go inside, to a commissary environment for example.  The same idea applies for refineries that opt for the KBCP shoe cover, which fits over boots and has a coated waterproof sole, which is important in these often muddy areas.  Similarly, some companies choose the KBSB SuperBootie, which has an easy fit, a nonskid surface and is 100% waterproof.
